I've been a busy bee and Etsy.com has been my saving grace! Even though its a small wedding I still wanted to include all the small touches that probably would have gotten lost with a large wedding. I'm so happy that everything is coming together.
On my last trip to Florida I met with a florist and picked out the flowers for my bouquet and the girls flowers. I didn't pick out boutonnieres for the guys because the dress shirts that I picked out for them didn't have pockets and I wasn't sure how that would look. But, the more I started looking at other wedding blogs and sites I saw that even without pockets some guys just pinned them up close to the tie and it looked great! So here's what I found...
I'm so happy that I found something unique and fun for them! They will be custom made with our exact colors and I can't wait till they come in!! So boutonnieres... CHECK!
I went for my first dress fitting about a month ago. My sister Krista gave me the name of a woman who she has used in the past and who does really beautiful work. Her name is Betty and she is about 60 years old and the sweetest woman ever! She is going to take in the sides and create a bustle at the bottom so I can keep my train for the ceremony, which I'm so excited about! I've heard that sometimes brides pay as much or more than what they paid for their dress, for their alterations so when she told me that the total for everything was 61 dollars I was a very happy girl :) So that just left finding some sort of hair accessory or veil. With my dress being on the casual side I wanted to keep things simple and this is what I found...
I found it on Etsy as well and I think that it will compliment my dress so well! I already bought my earrings so I'm all set for the big day!A beautiful girl named Kate, one of Jiovanni's classmates wives who lives in Florida gave me the name of a girl who does magic with hair and so now all I have to do is make an appointment and that will be all set too! Everything is coming together so smoothly that there is no one else to thank but God for giving me such a peace about this whole day.
Junior Bridesmaid dresses- Krista and I have been going back and forth about what Annie and Lilee should wear. We've checked every store, Krista has sent me pictures from Khol's and baby gap a handful of times but I still wasn't sure about which one I loved and then we found it... This little lace number is going to look adorable on my two favorite nieces!
and with this headband to match the grooms, they'll be perfect!
Junior Bridesmaids-CHECK!
Ceremony decorations- A couple of Jiovanni's classmates have also gotten married at the chapel and tavern and they have all told Jiovanni the same thing, " don't bother with the flowers because the garden is beautiful enough". So I didn't. And as the days past and I was envisioning walking down the isle without any decorations at the ceremony, I was getting really sad that it wouldn't be enough. So I started searching for idea's and this is what I found... MASON JARS and ribbons. I'm a bride on a budget and I have to say that even if I had endless $$ to spend I would probably still do these!
I plan on tying them up with green ribbon and it should be the touch that I was looking for! So you know what that means....Ceremony decor, CHECK!
I've been so back and forth about the centerpieces at the Chart House and I'm proud to say that I've finally settled on an idea.
I've started collecting these glass milk vases and so far I have two :-\ ! I plan I hitting up a ton of garage sales this summer with my mom sisters but if all else fails I can always purchase them on etsy for about 4 dollars a piece, not bad right?? But if anyone has some that they would like to donate I would be eternally grateful!!!!!
Kill three birds with one stone? Don't mind if I do. Place setting, favor and decor... SCORE! Check these out!
Each mason jar has your name attached and a lit candle inside at your seat that you get to take home. Pretty cool!
So that's pretty much it so far, Mom and Dad and Lilee booked their flights down and my WHOLE family is staying a whole week!!!!! I am so excited to share our new home with them and spend those last days as a single girl with my family. Jiovanni and I are going to Disney with my family a few days before the wedding and I'm really looking forward to that too! This is all going to be so much fun. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing, supportive, godly family that is working very hard to make this all happen for us. I love you Mom and Dad thank you for everything you're doing for us.
We love you,
Laura and Jiovanni
